A Typical Winter Trip

We ask that folks come to Golden the night before their flight into Sorcerer. We fly early in the morning and both the Kicking Horse Pass and Rogers Pass can cause delays in getting to town. Our staging area is at Heather Mountain Lodge, located 55 kilometers west of Golden, BC just east of the Rogers Pass. Saturday morning is generally our Exchange Daywhen a short helicopter flight takes groups in and out of the lodge.

After settling in, the guides will give an extensive beacon/avalanche rescue training session. There are several good short tours for the rest of the day and if the weather has cooperated, you should have time to ski.

For the rest of the week there is an extensive variety of ski tours that accomodate all the different weather and snow scenarios. Your guide will take you to all the best skiing and all the best views! They are also happy to help you learn more about the backcountry experience, be it avalanche safety or skiing ability.

At the end of each day, the staff will light up the sauna so you can relax your tired muscles. Meals are served family style, and we know how many calories you're burning! As an option for the Self Catered - Self Guided trips, Sorcerer would be happy to provide a cook and food for the week. Please inquire about cost and availablity.

On Friday evening the group gets organised to be ready to fly out promptly on Saturday morning.
